From time to time feast days vary the rhythm of everyday life. These moments and their accompanying rituals often have their origins in religious belief. Frequently we know of these beginnings: why we celebrate Christmas, for example, and perhaps Easter too. But what's the story behind Whitsun (Pentecost) or pets'day?
This exhibition gives centre stage to feast days of Christian origin. How did they come about? How were they celebrated in the Netherlands in times gone by? And how are they celebrated now? Do they have things in common with the feast days of other religions? Children - and adults too - can find out and experience the answers here, in all kinds of different ways.
